Objectives: Children explore and discover the colors of fall. Learn about classification and counting. Materials: Poster paper or other large paper for chart construction paper---fall colors scissors glue stick Fall leaves all shapes and colors, Paper bags for collecting leaves.

Instructions: Create a leaf chart by cutting out leaves from construction paper.....one for each color you expect to collect. Divide the poster into columns (one for each color leaf) Glue a leaf at the top of each column. Older children may help you cut out the leaves. Bring children outside to gather leaves…. Go to a local park, in the playground or a walk in the neighborhood. Bring the leaves back and have the children sort the leaves by color.. as a class count the leaves or tally up what each child found.
