|Instructions: This morning we learned the poem……
"5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate
The first one said, my it's getting late!
The second one said there's a chill in the air
The third one said I don't care
The fourth one said let's run, let's run
The fifth one said it's Halloween fun
So Puff went the wind and out went the lights,
And away went the jack-o-lanterns on Halloween night".
I printed the poem out with brown ink and cut it out. I also printed out a
picture of a tree for the kids to paint, from Creative Writer, but you could easily just paint a tree on the side of the paper. (We used black paper for our background paper) We glued our fall trees that we had painted on the left side of the paper with a full moon painted above it, in the top left corner. We painted a white picket fence from the edge of the tree to the right side of the paper, on the bottom of the page. Our fence had 5 fence posts. We painted horzontal lines through the top and bottom of our posts, to make it a fence. Then, we painted orange circles on top of each fence post (pumpkins) with green stems. (I added the smiling faces when the pumpkins were dry). Finally, we glued the poem in the top right corner of the paper. They are so darling!!!
|Comments: Younger kids may find this easier if the picture was simplified by making fence posts/fence out of paper strips and the pumpkins were cut from circles and glued on.
